The Farmer

Chris Charbonneau grew up reading Little House on the Prairie and Anne of Green Gables while sitting among the vegetables of the family garden. Her first vegetables were sold door to door out of a red flyer wagon with her sister in tow.

It should be no wonder that she fell in love and married a strapping young man and that they would eventually end up in a cabin in the mountains of Colorado. From the beginning they envisioned a homestead that utilized the sun to power & heat their home and grow delicious fruits and vegetables.

The early years were focused on building the foundations of the farm. Weekends were spent fencing, installing irrigation, building soils & experimenting with crops. Eventually the focus shifted to designing and building their home, a project not yet complete. Year after year, she kept growing and the farm kept expanding until it was time to share its abundance with the community.

The Help

When a little extra strength is needed Chris calls in her husband. She does this on rare occasions because most of his time is spent finishing their passive solar home which they’ve been building since 2015.

Also, he’s expensive as he jokingly charges her $100 for any task she needs done. Geez! So far he hasn’t collected since she keeps him supplied with hops for his home brewing hobby.
